We're Baaaaaaaaaa-ack!

This time it's all about the risers on the curved stage.
and the "wings" at either end.
So, here we go again.

Helen (this year's lead) and I spent time outside
in the really cold, windy, icy, freezing weather
a couple of weeks ago
to make sure our step measurements were correct.
Ah, you thought this was all fun and games?
We froze our fingers and chased important info papers when the wind took them.

Once the measurements were proven,
they had to be drawn out onto the paper tablecloth.
It's really important to get them the exact size
or we're in trouble when we try to install them!
Below is the lower step of the curved stage.
It's on two tables, side-by-side.

Helen N., Sarah G., Julianne R., Judy K and I spent the day
drawing out the patterns,
repurposing last years cardboard and
cleaning plastic coverings..

Our first three weeks of work also included drawing the designs.
We all had a little hand in this.
Looks like fun. Let's get started.
Sarah is working on her first panel of the year.
Hers was first done and it turned out really nice.
Hard to tell in the picture but those round circles are mirror.
They are the splashes of water off the wave and they glimmer.

 A closer look:

So Sarah started another panel.

Helen is working on some poppies for one of the "wings" of the stage. Looking lovely with their jagged fern-like leaves

Judy is a great addition to the team. She has picked up the art like a pro.
Pretty and dainty are her flowers.
Julianne designed and is working on two steps on the ends of the stage.
We learn so much from each other as we progress. Notice the lines of the leaves.
Just about perfection.
I'm trying my hand with some of the lettering in a wave. Not as easy as I thought!!
Also, auditioning whether or not to use the dark blue between some of the letters.

And then we have some lunch. Mmmmmmmmm.

It's been a really good start in the mosaic studio this month.
